Cosmetology License Requirements in Missouri

Pick up a new career in cosmetology or manicuring. You may complete your training to become a cosmetologist in as little as ten months. You can take classes and become a manicurist in as little as twelve weeks. Courses offered through Missouri beauty schools are full or part time. To be eligible for a license in cosmetology in Missouri, you must be of good moral character, possess at least a tenth grade education, be at least 17 years old, and complete the necessary training.

Students - Hours of Training

  • Cosmetologist - 1500 hours (1200 hours of training with a public vocational technical school)
  • Esthetician - 750 hours
  • Manicurist - 400 hours

Apprentices - Hours of Supervision

  • Cosmetologist - 3000 hours
  • Esthetician - 100 hours
  • Manicurist - 800 hours
